The most exciting part of playing an instrument is to be able to learn to play songs. It is important to start with easy songs first because if you start with hard ones then you might become frustrated and then leave playing guitar altogether.

This is a very easy song to play on guitar because it has simple chords and strumming patterns. It's actually a piano song, but it can be played on guitar quite beautifully. The open chords during the intro and verse consist of just E minor, C, G and D, with A minor coming in during pre-chorus and chorus. 

4. "Someone like you" - Adele
Someone like you is a beautiful and easy song to play. Again, the chords for this song are basic open chords. The verse has the chords: G, E minor and C in sequence. The verse has D, E minor and C and then the chorus consists of D, E minor C and then back to D. Although this song is played using fingerstyle, you can play this using basic strumming patterns. The strumming pattern for this song is DDU-UD-DUDU.

3. "LA Bamba"- Ritchie Valens
This song particularly is one of the easiest song to play on guitar. It's a Mexican song so, it has a Mexican vibe to it. The song can be played only using three chords that repeat throughout the song. These chords are C,F and G. Don't worry about the F chord. You can play it in open position, you don't need to learn the Barre position of F. The strumming pattern is also very easy.
It is DDU-DD-UUDUDUDU.
2. "Knockin on Heaven's Door"- Bob Dylan
Great song to play on guitar as it is a guitar based song. Easy chords that repeat and also the strumming pattern is easy. The intro starts with G, D and Am and then G, D and C. The verse has the same chord progression that is, G, D and C major. The chords for chorus are same as that of the intro.

1. "Riptide"- Vance Joy
This song is also easy like all the other songs in this list. It has only three chords throughout the song. The strumming is also basic pattern. E minor, D and G, throughout the song. The strumming pattern is D D UDU. If you are a beginner in guitar, then you should start with this song.
